My Knitting Story
I learned to knit when I was 5 years old, taught by both my mother and father. My father showed me the basic technique, while my mother taught me how to cast on, bind off, and many other skills. Ever since I was little, knitting has been a very enjoyable hobby for me. It brings both joy and relaxation. As a child, I mostly knitted from imagination—first small, colorful patches, and later lots of doll clothes. Being creative and able to turn an idea into a finished piece has always been a great motivation. Knitting has been a wonderful hobby throughout my life.
My Own Designs
In recent years, a dream has come true: creating and publishing my own knitting designs. It started small, with mittens and hats, then sweaters for children and adults, scarves, and many other knitted garments and products. I find most of my inspiration in the world around me—in nature, in beautiful patterns from snowflakes, trees, and flowers, and in all the wonderful colors we see in the different seasons. Today, we offer a wide selection of exciting designs on our website.
Publications
Some of my patterns have been featured in the magazines Familien and Hjemmet. It has been a lovely experience that I’m very grateful for—both because it has given me inspiration and because I have learned a lot through the collaboration.
From Sole Proprietorship to a Family Business
We are now a small family business, which first began as a sole proprietorship. One day, our son came home and said: “We need to do more with this, Mom. We need to translate all the patterns into English and get a website up and running.” And so, another dream came true. Our son Nikolai is now the general manager, running everything related to the website along with the administrative tasks. My husband, Roar, takes care of all the packing of yarn and patterns that are sent out by mail. I get to continue with what I enjoy the most—turning the knitting ideas that pop into my head into patterns on paper.
Where Are We Located?
We are based in Tønsberg and Oslo. When you see the photos we share, you’ll also notice that we spend a lot of time traveling both north and south in Norway. Our love for Northern Norway has become one of our trademarks—reflected in our name, our logo, and in many of our designs.
We Welcome You to Follow Us!
Enjoy your knitting!
